Image ALT Text Problems

This page demonstrates various image alt text issues that should be detected by the SiteScan image tracker and alt comparison report. Each section below shows a different category of alt text problem commonly found on real websites.

Images Without ALT Attribute

These images have no alt attribute at all, which is the most serious accessibility violation. Screen readers cannot describe these images to visually impaired users, and search engines cannot understand their content.

Images With Empty ALT

These images have alt="" which is technically valid for decorative images but problematic when applied to content images. The analyzer should flag these when the image appears to be meaningful content rather than purely decorative.

Images With Very Short ALT

These images have extremely short alt text that provides minimal descriptive value. Good alt text should be between twenty and one hundred twenty five characters and meaningfully describe the image content.

The combination of these issues across multiple pages creates a pattern that the image alt comparison report should clearly display, with statistics on alt text coverage and quality distribution across the entire site.
